Skin Care

One of the most neglected aspects of maintaining a youthful look for men is skin care. The face gets constant sun exposure on a daily basis, even as one drives to work or walks in and out of buildings.

Although it may not seem like much, this adds up over time. A good skin care regimen can go a long way in helping to slow the aging process and reverse some of the damage that has already been done to our skin. Come visit with us about a customized skin care regimen.

Face

Mens’ faces age in a similar way to women’s, and many of the same procedures described in the facial cosmetic section of this site are also offered to men including: botox and fillers, a face lift, blepharoplasty, brow lift, and rhinoplasty.

Dr. Brown can work with you to determine which procedures may be right for you. He will modify the procedures in a way to respect the male hairlines and facial structures and maintain your masculine appearance and give you a natural, unoperated result.

Body

Liposuction is one of the most common procedures requested by men. Despite aggressive exercise and dieting, sometimes stubborn pockets of fat remain. Liposuction is ideal for treating these areas. A few very small incisions are used to access and remove the fat leaving you with better shape and minimal scarring.

After weight loss, men can also be left with significant hanging excess skin in the abdomen, chest, arms, and thighs. The procedures used to remove this skin are basically the same as those described in the body cosmetic section of this website; however, Dr. Brown will tailor the scar location and shaping of your body to a more masculine form.

Male Breast Reduction

Although it is normal for young men to have some minor breast development during the period of adolescence, some have abnormal breast development that persists outside of this time period or develops later in life for other reasons.

For men with excess breast tissue, this can be very embarrassing, cause problems with self-esteem, and even cause them to restrict many of their activities because they are self-conscious. When you come visit Dr. Brown, he will first examine you and review your medical history to ensure there is no other medical reason for the abnormal breast development.

If there is no reversible cause that can be determined, then Dr. Brown will develop a surgical treatment plan to help you regain your more masculine form. Depending on the severity, the treatment options can vary. In mild forms of gynecomastia, ultrasound assisted liposuction through a few very small incisions can be adequate to remove the excess tissue. When the breasts are very large and have excess skin, then liposuction is combined with a procedure to remove the excess skin through an incision around the areola.

This hides the scar along a normal transition point and also allows for shrinking the size of the areola, which is usually too large. If you have abnormal development of your breasts, make an appointment to discuss your options with Dr. Brown.
